When Channels Television caught up with Lateef months ago, he disclosed a little bit about what happened to him saying:
“LATEEF ADEDIMEJI: It’s been crazy. It’s been tough. It’s not been fun actually. It’s been training upon training, stress upon stress, stunt upon stunt, and then something like this happens. I’ve not explored this side of acting – where it comes to doing war films, and having to do what stunt people do. And then you know, trying to use a body double for yourself, it’s actually crazy. I was trying to be perfect about it and my leg komot so I feel bad, but it’s all good.”
Now, during a new interview with the ladies of Your View on TVC, filmmaker Femi Adebayo is opening up about what really happened, and how exactly Lateef Adedimeji broke his leg on set of the movie. Here’s what Femi Adebayo had to say.
Speaking about what caused Lateef Adedimeji to break his leg on set of ‘Jagun Jagun’, Femi Adebayo said:
FEMI ADEBAYO: Lateef started training like three months before the location so we did a lot of trainings for the choreographed fights. So this particular scene is his first scene in the movie when he was walking, and he just took a step and his broke his leg. I was like ah ah! He didn’t even jump, he didn’t even do anything. The guy cried, “I have worked so hard for this project, does it mean that you are going to replace me?” And I said to him, don’t worry, whatever it is, you are going to play this role. So we did a lot of body doubles, and all these things we have a documentary for the film and that is coming up pretty soon. So the most important thing is that [despite his broken leg], we were able to make you believe that this is what happened.
