As our beloved country, Nigeria reaches a new milestone age today, popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele teamed up with her colleagues rapper Falz, and actress Adaku to celebrate the 64th Independence Day.
Amidst the economic hardship in the country, Funke Akindele, Falz and actress Adaku showed that they are proper entertainers as they effortlessly serenade netizens with amazing moves that can’t be left without talking about.
On her Instagram page today, October 1st 2024, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele shared a video of herself dressed in Nigeria’s colors, delivering a heartfelt message to citizens. She acknowledged that while it may seem cliché to say the country will become great again, it’s a sentiment that needs to be expressed repeatedly because it’s where she earns a living and empowers others.
The movie star went on to add that she has no plans of relocating from Nigeria, expressing her belief that the country will improve. In her words;
“I pray that this country will be great, yes! You say it’s cliche, we keep saying it will be great, oh yes it will be great because this is where I earn a living, this is where I’m called ‘gbogbo bigs girl’ this is where I make all the money to afford all the designer bag, designer cloth, this is where I make the money to empower a lot of people.
I just finished filming Everybody Loves Jenifa with over 175 crew members here in Nigeria and Ghana but majority from my country Nigeria. Where did I make the money from? From Nigeria. For me, I will not japa, I will remain in Nigeria, Nigeria go better.”
She accompanied the clip with a caption; “Happy Independence Day to my beloved Nigeria! We’ve weathered storms, but our spirit remains unbroken. I celebrate our resilience, creativity & hope. Envisioning a Nigeria where dreams flourish, talents thrive & opportunities abound. Let’s believe in a brighter tomorrow!”

In another, Funke Akindele alongside Falz and actress Adaku danced to the evergreen song “The Way Forward” by veteran singer King Sunny Ade as they celebrated Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
This comes in anticipation of her move dubbed “Everybody loves Jenifa” which will be in cinema on December 13th, 2024.
