The death of famous actor Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, better known by his stage name Agbako, has been reported by Nollywood actors.
As many people remember their early years with the actor, condolences to the late veteran have been pouring in on the internet.
Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN announced his demise through the page of its president, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin.
Mr Latin on behalf of the group announced the demise of Agbako. According to the statement released on his page, the veteran died today and was aged 101.
He wrote, “announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024.”
Also, actor Jide Kosoko penned a goodbye note to Agbako.
He wrote, “Good night ooo, Baba Charles. a.k.a Agbako, 102 years, ba wasa ba. R I P”
Gossipinfo news recalls that Nollywood stars stormed the capital of Ogun state, Abeokuta, to shower love and support for veteran thespian, Alhaji Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo Agbako, when he clocked 100.
Abeokuta was flooded with Nollywood veterans and members of the Ogun State chapter of TAMPAN to celebrate his birthday.
Celebrities like Toyosi Adesanya, Odunlade Adekola, Lere Paimo, Rose Odika, Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr Latin, Tunde Kelani, Tunbosun Odunsi, Yemi Solade and a host of others storm Abeokuta to give him a befitting celebration before his death.
Recall also that actor Muyiwa Ademola made an urgent demand from Guinness World Records when Agbako clocked 100.
The veteran actor shared a video on his Instagram page celebrating his senior colleague. He urged the Guinness World Records to award Charles Olumo Agbako as the oldest and most agile Nigerian film actor.
