November 11, 2013, was a day that changed everything. I remember the cold Monday morning, the moment you took your last breath on my daddy’s chest. I recall walking barefoot from Iwo to Ile-Ife, feeling numb and lost. People rallied around me in Osogbo, and a kind stranger helped me get to Ile-Ife. But it wasn’t until our church shepherd broke the news that reality set in. I burst into tears, and my daddy’s voice on the phone, broken with grief, made it feel the real.
Even after 12 years, the memories of you remain vivid. Hearing about the impact you had on your students and the people you are surrounded with brings me joy. You served God with all your heart, and your legacy lives on. I still miss you, Mum, and there are days when I wish you were here to guide me. But I take comfort in knowing you’re watching over me.
